Possible Anthrax call June 08

At 1550 on June 19th Okaloosa County Special Operations under command of FWB Chief 6, was requested by Santa Rosa County Emergency Management for a unknown powder. Once onscene the team was briefed and informed that there was probable cause to believe this was a legitimate threat. An entry team of 2 members in Level B protection were supported by a back up team in Level B, and decon was established prior to entry being made. The crew obtained samples and performed a test for radioactivity, a protein test and a utilized a state of the art Laser to identify the product. The ambient temp outside was 94 degrees so crews had to constantly hydrate during the gruesome 2 hour ordeal. The scene was deemed safe and all units returned to Okaloosa County
